Flecks of Gold

Hi everyone!! I hope life is going well! Keep pushing on with school! You've got it!

This week was AMAZING! There continues to be sooooo many miracles here in Nakhon Sawan, and I am blessed to have the opportunity to see them!

We had an amazing miracle this week! Our friend พี่แอร์ (Air) came to church and accepted the invitation to be baptized! She is one of my closest friends here in Thailand, and I am filled with so much joy to see her find true happiness through the gospel!

While we have seen some pretty amazing miracles in the past couple of weeks, I have been thinking about all of the small miracles in my life as well.

Do you know that one inspirational video about the Flecks of Gold? I have been thinking about this video a lot recently! I don't remember the message tied to the analogy, but I have been thinking about how this story helps me understand miracles.

Before my mission, I often heard of the amazing experiences people had on their missions. To me, their miracles and experiences seemed like big nuggets of gold. I came to Thailand expecting to see these massive miracles or nuggets of gold. But missionary work was very different from what I expected in many ways. I felt like I wasn't witnessing the miracles I had heard about.

However, the longer I have served, I have realized that miracles come in the form of flecks. Not nuggets. My mission leaders have encouraged us to look for these flecks of gold in the Lord's work, and to look for every single little miracle. As I have consciously tried to see these in my day-to-day life, the Lord has helped me see them! And as I look back on each tender mercy, my entire mission has been one big miracle.

I invite you all to stop looking for nuggets! Stop comparing your miracles with anyone else's. I promise that the Lord knows where you are and what you are experiencing. I promise that it is in His plan for you! And I promise that your life is full of little flecks of gold, even if they are harder to see.

I love you all!! Have a great day!
